Trustee and members of the Sagamu Patriots Dinner’s Club from Sagamu Remo in Ogun State were last weekend in in Ile-Ife to re-unite with their kinsmen of Iremo community in the town. Iremo quarters is a district in Ile-Ife believed to be the source of all the people of Remoland in Ogun State.
President of the Sagamu Club Professor Gabriel Ogunmola speaking to the journalists at the Ile-Oodua palace of the Ooni after returning from Iremo quarters described their visit as a homecoming Which has given them blessings and joy of origination.
“We as Remo people are bonafide descendants of Oduduwa. We have connected to our source today and it’s indeed a joy of origination which raised our spirit because once you connect with your source, your spirit comes ON”. Professor Ogunmola.
On is own, the Club’s Vice President Dr Bola Kalejaiye said they were in Ife to pay homage to the African foremost monarch and see where exactly their Remo ancestors migrated from, several centuries ago.
“We Remo people are from Ife, our ancestors are from here, infact we have been to Iremo quarters which is our ancestral home today before coming to pay homage to Ooni Ogunwusi as the overall father of Yoruba nation. We were there to see exactly where we Remo people migrated from centuries ago, and it’s been a wonderful experience”. Dr Kalejaiye said.
